Ash & Oak

Ash & Oak - Nya Rawlyns

Perplexing and unfinished.

It felt like a draft, like there were passages marked "fill this in later" that never got filled in.

Essentially, this is a mail-order bride story, which is a classic for a reason, but it didn't work here.

On the one hand, these guys are partners immediately, and in love five minutes after that, and on the other hand, they are incapable of talking to each other and wracked with misunderstandings and self-doubt.

Annoying, because the potential for a good book is in there somewhere.
