4, maybe 4.5 stars. As a rule, I don't do angels. I don't like angels, or to a lesser extent demons, in fiction. I don't want my romance/PNR/UF cluttered up with the whole Judeo-Christian Heaven and Hell megillah. Too many questions start circling in my brain and enjoyment goes out the window. However, there are a few exceptions to this rule, and Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter series is a big one. This was a very good book. I like the world she has built where archangels are god-like immortals at the top of the food chain. They are not servants of a benevolent god, they are IT. Add in vampires, "the reborn" (and I don’t usually like the whole zombie thing either), the love between an ancient archangel and the first Made Angel in millennia, and you've got a pretty gripping story.
